According to Bill Allai, the Motion Control Principal Engineer at National Instruments and Chairman of the Motion Control Association, integrated motion solutions are on the rise. Not only will this create more competition, but that competition will reduce cost and provide more options for the machine builder.

“The design philosophy behind integrated solutions is focused on reducing the total cost of ownership.  We are seeing staffing levels continue to shrink, or at best remain flat, while integrated motion options expand.   This shift has forced many machine builders to seriously question the long held belief that shopping around for every system component provides the highest value”
