Hi, I’m Miles Budimir, Motion Control Editor with Design World magazine and I’m here with another product spotlight video. This time we are featuring Groschopp. Recently Groschopp has unveiled some new brushless DC motor and gearmotor combinations.
I have one actually right here, so I’m going to talk about this briefly here. So these brushless DC motors come in two outside square sizes. This one happens to be 73.3 millimeter they also come in 90.2 millimeter sizes. They can come with 12, 24, or 163 VDC/115VAC. They can be operated in variable speed or torque modes, they feature 120 degree Hall effects switches. Actually have here this bundle of wires that I’m playing with here, these are the signal wires right here, these are the motor power wires here as well.
The continuous rated speed on these motors is anywhere from 2600 to 3800 RPM; and the continuous rated torque is anywhere from 1.8 to 10.8 in-lbs. As I mentioned already these are brushless DC motors, so they really have no maintenance. The expected life of these motors is anywhere up to 20,000 hours or more. The only limit on actually is the bearings as the bearings do wear out overtime. These motors are also totally enclosed; their non-ventilated at well. These brushless DC motors can also work well with several gearbox options that Groschopp has. These can include right angle worm, planetary, parallel shaft, or even right angle planetary gearbox options.
