Groschopp Inc. announces an expansion to its production facility, located in Sioux Center, Iowa. Completed in January of 2012, the addition is located on the Northwest corner of the current facility and totals 7,500 sq. ft. The addition provides 120 x 60 sq. ft. of additional warehouse space, allowing for greater manufacturing capabilities in the former warehouse location. Originally 93,000 sq. ft., Groschopp’s manufacturing facility now totals 105,000 sq. ft. The new addition was completed ahead of Groschopp’s original timetable and within the overall project budget.

Selected to oversee the building project, Roy Damstra, Industrial Engineering Manager commented:

“We are extremely pleased to see this addition to our facility. We are proud to have completed this project within Groschopp’s original timetable. The expansion exemplifies our commitment to growth and customer accommodation. With this additional space we have expanded our manufacturing capacity, allowing us to take on more customers and potentially speed up our customer’s time to market.”

The expansion was approved by the Groschopp board in November 2010 and groundbreaking took place on May 17, 2011. Through competitive bidding Groschopp selected Bouma and Co. Construction from Orange City, Iowa to act as the general contractor of the project.
